We're now on version four of the photo boat and it's truly a one-of-a-kind tool for production on the water.  Fully custom, we started with a 27' triple tube pontoon deck, a raised center console and twin 300hp outboards.  The wings are about 9' off the water, and spread 8.5' off the gunnel on each side, for a 25' walkway and puts the camera well outside our chine spray while under way, or when static able to be right over the center of the subject boat.  The 'low wing' is another platform that slides out 6' on either side of the photo boat at deck height.  We're able to get unique running shots by having this low camera position that's outside of our chine spray while at speed.  The "floor" is padded, allowing the cameraman to lay down and literally touch the camera to the surface of the water.  Seeing air under a trimmed boat while running alongside has never been easier.  We use a six-place aviation intercom system and headsets on the photo boat to make us more safe and efficient.  With the system we use we can literally whisper between camera operators, clients, and the photo boat driver, even at 50+ mph.  Also always ready is the "Dougie Raft", a lightweight custom raft and trolling motor setup that allows us an intimate reach at the subjects without having to move the entire photo boat.  We also have a set of six waterproof VHF production radios and a bullhorn at the ready for quick communication with the subject boat.  Anchors, lines, boat hooks, suction cups, floatation and safety gear, and more.  Once you've experienced the Adventure Studios photo boat you'll find that nobody has taken the frustration out of working on the water like we have.
