The food and beverage operation was designed with themed entertainment sensibilities. Convention guests would depart during each event for immersive simulated air ship (dirigible) tours over exotic sites worldwide. Work included consideration of various "big idea" alternatives, full ideation of potential design directions, venue costing, and financial operating estimates.
The back story for the venue was a tale of U.S.A.S. Airship One having been recovered and restored. Carefully kept hidden from world view by one of its original inventors and his heirs, Airship One now moors at Park Place at the Boardwalk, at Caesar's Atlantic City.
Airship One takes us back to an earlier time, a simpler time, when it first voyaged in 1923. It was the age of the giant airships, the dirigibles. In that year, George Gerswhin penned Rhapsody in Blue, and in just two more years, The Great Gatsby will appear in print. It is an age of interesting advances in science. Just last year, talkies came to the nation's movie theaters, and a few years before that, this fellow Einstein postulated something he has called, a General Theory of Relativity. And the World War was by then some years past. Just a year before Airship One's first voyage, something called the Miss America pageant debuted here in Atlantic City.
